Hi everyone,
We hope you are all keeping safe and well.
Over the last 5 years, many of you have been kind enough to devote your time and energy to fundraising for us, by running marathons, holding bake sales, football matches, and so much more. Until now, we've been using that money to fund training workshops in schools and with local business owners, to buy t-shirts, wristbands and to print flyers, and to run our own annual events (amongst other things!)
As a result of all your fundraising efforts, at the start of 2020 we reached a position where we could make greater financial investments in our community. With this in mind we sought applications from local charities and organisations, in order to fund initiatives in accordance with our core aims.
We are now excited to confirm that we will be partnering with the Golddigger Trust and the Stocksbridge Community Leisure Centre over the coming year, investing a total of just over £44,000.
Both of these organisations have developed very innovative proposals for community-centred support in Sheffield which is outside of formal health-care provision, in the form of F2F/online workshops, online resources, group meetings and physical exercise sessions. These initiatives will be accessible and available to all young people experiencing mental ill health, without the need for a GP referral.
We would like to thank both organisations for such strong applications, in particular Beth from Golddigger and Lee from SCLC, and look forward to working with you! Details about both projects will follow in the coming weeks.
Finally, we would also just like to reiterate our gratitude to everyone who has fundraised for us over the last 5 years. SToRMS is Dan's legacy and your continued support means more than we can put into words.
We are continuing to accept applications for the SToRMS funds, so if you are interested please contact us via enquiries@stormsdmc.org for more information.
Please bear in mind that we will only be considering/accepting proposals which we feel deliver our core aims. These can be found on our website through the 'Our Aims' tab, www.stormsdmc.org
Otherwise, take care and we hope to hear from some of you soon! ... See MoreSee Less

Hi all, we hope you are well and keeping safe.
This is just a quick post, to acknowledge the amazing achievements of the Sheffield Medics Football Club. During the week of Monday the 11th – Sunday 17th May, Sheffield Medics FC embarked on an ambitious challenge of running 1,205 km (the equivalent distance from St. James’ Park in Newcastle to the Vitality Stadium in Bournemouth, passing all the other Premier League grounds on the way).
In the end, they smashed their target, by running 2,201 km in total and raising an unbelievable £2,305!!!
We are so grateful for all their hard work and efforts, which were made in honour of a former player who died by suicide a few years ago.
Congratulations guys and thankyou!
